WHAT DOES AN ENGINEER DO? ---- WHY WOULD I NEED AN ENGINEER? 
These are questions often asked......... some answers are given below:

You may be the owner of a structure or dwelling where council has a concern regarding stability ........ 
An engineer’s report will identify structural compliance and address councils requirements. 

You wish undertake alterations to an existing building of a structural nature .......
An engineer can confirm the structural adequacy of the existing structure to cater with the new loads being applied or the ability for the structure to withstand walls being removed. 

You wish to build a new home ............ 
An engineer shall determine the sizes of the structural components such as concrete footings, floor slabs, steel posts and beams plus load bearing timber frames, that are required to structurally support the new home.

Yes, we do provide designs for small residential jobs...
Clients can be re-assured that the quality of design is not reflected by the size of the project, a Chartered engineer will oversee every project that is undertaken by MJ Civil.

Yes, we undertake Stormwater designs ...
 but only on projects where we have a structural involvement

We have a standard inspection fee that is specific to location ...
Please send an email from our contacts page, or ring the office to discuss your requirements. Standard fee inspections are undertaken between 10am - 3pm weekdays .....
Inspections and the associated reporting undertaken outside these hours are undertaken at hourly rates

Our office is located in Lane Cove, Sydney.....
